Map of the Brain

A simplified version
is labeled with words I understand:
Taste. Speaking. Emotion.
Thinking. Moving. Vision.
Touching. Hearing. Balance.
A child's coloring page
with suggested borders.

The unnamed blank space,
I call the Divine Yes.
The space that erases
movement, thought, speech.
The space where trumpeter swans
float into being through fog
and stay.
Where autumn-red brambles wear frost
on every curve and thorn.
Where oak leaves lie curled on the path
like shaved chocolate.
Where tongue meets dewdrop on needle-tip
and spiderwebs connect dark to dawn.
Where the mouth is a wide-open yes.
Where there are no boundaries,
only the infinite breathless breath
of unknowing.
